It has been
a long-standing German tradition to use oils and wax to impregnate natural
surfaces. Today, the oiling of wooden surfaces, including hardwood flooring, is
experiencing a renaissance.
The natural appearance of an oiled floor appeals to a growing number of both
home and business owners. The character of the natural wood is preserved and
with proper treatment, the floor is made more resistant to household chemicals
as well as dampness, dust and dirt.

Benefits of Eukula Hardwax Oil
Eukula Hardwax Oil enhances the natural beauty and texture of the wood as it
produces an open pore finish, which gives the floor the ability to breathe and
allows the moisture to flow through.
The advantages are obvious; Eukula ensures excellent wood protection, due to its
depth of penetration, quick hardening, durability and dirt-repelling surface.
The formation of cracks and joints in the wood is substantially reduced while
the natural breathing of the wood is not impaired.
It is environmentally friendly and contributes to a healthy living environment
as it is produced from natural, physiologically-safe oils and resins. Eukula
Hardwax Oil is a non-toxic product and does not contain lead. As a result, the
gassing vapour is minimal, allowing you to enjoy your floors soon after
application. Re-sanding is not a concern when a floor finished with Eukula
Hardwax Oil is properly cared for. Floors are easy to clean and simple to
maintain.
Eukula Hardwax Oil in Comparison to a Plastic Finish
In comparison to the commonly-used plastic finishes such as polyurethane, Eukula
Hardwax Oil is easily repairable, either on the entire floor or for a simple
spot-repair. In contrast, plastic finishes are not spot-repairable, so in order
to repair any damage it is necessary to completely sand down and re-finish the
floor, regardless of size.
Plastic-finished floors need to be re-sanded approximately every 7 - 10 years,
although studies have indicated that high traffic areas may require re-finishing
a great deal sooner. Having applied Eukula Hardwax Oil initially, we recommend
that your floor is simply refreshed every 1 - 5 years. In high traffic
applications, such as commercial and industrial floors, refreshing is
recommended more often.
Maintenance
All oil-finished floors should be refreshed AFTER installation.
Every floor pre-finished with Eukula Hardwax Oil comes with a Touch-Up Kit that
is shipped separately, containing 1 Litre of Euku Maintenance-emulsion, 250 ml
Euku-Refresher and 250 ml of Stain, if required.
EUKULA MAINTENANCE-EMULSION -
Apply by adding 10% mixture per 1 litre of warm water.
DO NOT SOAK when wiping the floor.
Allow your floor to completely dry before walking on it.
(please refer to further detailed instructions on bottle).
EUKULA-REFRESHER -
To bring back the floor's original luster, we recommend an application every 1-5
years depending on wear and tear.
Apply the mixture using a spray bottle - DO NOT MIX WITH WATER. Lightly mist the
floor evenly then mop with a disposable cloth mop.
To prevent wax build-up, DO NOT apply too many times.
Allow 30 hours of drying time - in the meantime, DO NOT walk on the floor with
shoes. Final strength of the finish will be achieved in approximately two weeks.
